Sometimes You CAN Do-It-Yourself

Do It YourselfElectricity and H2O are two things that typically don’t go together.

Oftentimes, though, electricity and DIY rarely mix well! But surprisingly, there are a few bits of DIY advice that I have offered homeowners over the years.

A blown circuit is common in our field, and I have found that I am often able to help out our clients with this issue over the phone. I find comfort in the fact that I am able to help people without having to send them an invoice.

So here it goes. My best DIY tip: A blown circuit is often just a trip in the breaker, which can be easily reset. All you need to do if this happens is to turn the breaker off, then push the power button even harder to reset it. You’ll feel a spring when pushing this button, so you’ll know the difference between ‘off’ and ‘reset.’ Feel free to call us if you have any uncertainty and we’ll be glad to walk you through the process.

Nobody likes to be without power, so hopefully the next time you find yourself in this situation, you’ll be able to help yourself out quickly and easily before asking your local electrician for a housecall.
